Volunteer directory

Join or Update Your Volunteer Listing

Use the same form whether you are applying for the first time or changing an existing listing. Admins review submissions before information is published in the public directory.

Moved or changed your phone number? Choose I am already listed, but need to update my information on the form. Submit the new information so an admin can review and replace the old public listing.

How the listing process works

Free Snake Relocation provides the directory and approval process. It does not dispatch or assign volunteers.

1

Submit the form

Select first-time application or update, then provide the requested information.

2

Admin review

An admin reviews the submission before approving, correcting, or declining it.

3

Directory listing

Approved information is added to, or updated in, the public volunteer directory.

4

Direct contact

People seeking help contact listed volunteers directly, preferably by text.

Choose the option that fits

First-time application

Apply to have your contact information considered for the public directory.

Update an existing listing

Use this for a new phone number, name change, move, corrected city or state, or any other listing change. Do not submit a second first-time application.

Before you apply

  • Only volunteer for snakes you can identify and handle safely.
  • Have appropriate equipment, experience, and personal insurance.
  • Understand the laws, permits, transport rules, and release restrictions where you operate.
  • Obtain property-owner permission before entering private property.
  • Relocations listed through this directory must be offered without a required fee.

What the directory does not do

  • It does not send, assign, or schedule volunteers.
  • It does not promise that a volunteer will answer or be available.
  • It does not provide an availability switch that volunteers must maintain.
  • It does not monitor calls, texts, relocations, or outcomes.
  • It does not train, certify, insure, or endorse listed volunteers.

Common questions

How do I change my phone number or location?

Use the same form and choose the option that says you are already listed and need to update your information. Enter the corrected information. After admin review, the existing public listing can be updated rather than creating a duplicate.

What if I am temporarily unavailable?

You are not required to accept every request. If contacted, you may reply that you are unavailable or simply decline. The directory does not use an availability toggle because it could become outdated.

Does Free Snake Relocation send me calls?

No. People search the directory and contact volunteers directly. The administrators do not dispatch, assign, or coordinate relocations.

Do I need a permit?

Requirements vary by location and activity. You are responsible for checking and following all applicable local, state, and federal laws and permit requirements before handling or relocating wildlife.

Can I charge for a relocation?

No required fee may be charged for a relocation obtained through this free directory. Any unsolicited tip must remain optional and must be lawful where you operate.

How long does approval take?

Submissions are reviewed by volunteer administrators. Review time can vary, and submission does not guarantee publication.
