Where It Started
Before the website, before the nationwide volunteer network, and before thousands of people knew where to turn for help with a snake, there was an idea started by Jason Landers.
Jason Landers, who has since passed away, created the foundation for what would eventually become the Free Snake Relocation Directory community seen today.
Jason cared deeply about snakes, education, and helping people handle snake encounters in a safer and more humane way.
Today, the directory connects people with volunteer snake relocators across the United States and parts of Canada. Many people use the website and Facebook group, but not everyone knows the story of the person who started it.
Why This Program Matters
The Jason Landers Legacy Program helps preserve the history of this community and keeps Jason’s name connected to the mission he helped build.
This is not just about giving out plaques or patches. It is about recognizing volunteers who represent the standard Jason would be proud of.
Remembering Jason
These photos help show Jason as more than just the founder of a directory. He was a real person with a passion for snakes, education, and the community that continues today.

Carrying the Mission Forward
The Free Snake Relocation Directory exists because people care enough to answer calls, educate the public, and help snakes and people safely coexist.
The Jason Landers Legacy Program is one way to make sure the history of this community is not forgotten and that the people continuing the mission are recognized with the respect they deserve.
